INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Butler Friday afternoon.

The Panthers (9-9, 3-4 Horizon) did win a pair of singles matches but could not break through otherwise.

Jenna Felsher claimed one of the wins for Milwaukee, while Megan Gow claimed the other. Plus, Gow and Sammi Schoen collected a win at #3 doubles.

Felsher's win was a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Cam Thompson at #5 singles, while Gow collected a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Ashley Breitenbach at #6 singles. The doubles victory by Schoen and Gow came in the third slot, with the tandem capturing an 8-4 victory over Thompson and Breitenbach.

But, Milwaukee dropped the other two doubles contests. Kelly Drvaric and Kari Kastenholz nearly pulled out a win in the top slot, falling 8-6 to Becky Jenkins and Molly Casperson. Meanwhile, Butler won the remaining four singles contests in straight sets, though Drvaric extended her second set to a tiebreaker at #1 while Kastenholz fell, 7-5, in the second set at #2.

"We had some chances but we can't seem to find a way to win," UWM head coach Matt McCaskill said. "We had set-points at number-two singles and Kelly lost a tight one at number-one singles, plus we lost that number-one doubles match. We just can't seem to finish the big points. But, we can still finish fifth in the league with a win Sunday and that would be nice."

UWM wraps up the regular season Sunday morning by hosting Youngstown State at the Paley Tennis Center. The Panthers would claim the fifth seed in the upcoming league championships with a victory.
