Sport psychology is a proficiency that uses psychological knowledge and skills to address optimal performance and well-being of athletes, developmental and social aspects of sports participation, and systemic issues associated with sports settings and organizations (American Psychological Association, 2015).
Student-athletes at Milwaukee have the opportunity to utilize on-campus sport psychology services offered through the Laboratory for Sport Psychology & Performance Excellence. These services, delivered by faculty and/or advanced graduate students, are designed to help student-athletes achieve maximum potential in sport, the classroom, and life. Services provided include but are not limited to: intensity regulation, confidence building, team dynamics, injury prevention, as well as injury rehabilitation and return to sport.
